Mounjaro titration schedules: keeping track of when your dose changes
Short answer: Mounjaro treatment typically starts at 2.5 mg weekly and steps up gradually, commonly every 4 weeks if tolerated, under your prescriber's plan. The practical challenge is not understanding the plan; it is knowing, on a random Tuesday in week 7, which step you are on and when the next change lands. That is a tracking problem.
How step-up plans work
GLP-1 medications are started low and increased slowly to give your body time to adjust and to keep side effects manageable. A typical pattern is 4 weeks at 2.5 mg, then 5 mg, with further steps (7.5 mg, 10 mg and beyond) decided by your prescriber based on how you respond. The exact plan is individual: some people stay longer at a step, some settle on a maintenance dose and stop climbing. Only your prescriber sets these steps; the numbers here are just the commonly described pattern.
Where people lose track
- "Which week am I on?" Four weeks per step sounds simple until a holiday, a missed jab or a pharmacy delay shifts things.
- The step-change week itself. The riskiest moment is injecting the old amount out of habit on the week the dose changes, especially with vials or multi-dose pens where the amount is chosen by hand.
- Reconstructing it later. At reviews, prescribers ask when you moved to the current dose and how long you have been on it. Six weeks later, that date is gone.
How to stay on top of it
Write the plan down once, as your prescriber gave it: each step's amount and duration, and the start date. Then let each logged dose place you on that plan automatically. The record should be able to answer three questions instantly: what do I inject this week, when does it change, and how long have I been on the current step?
How PepLevel handles it
In PepLevel you enter your prescriber's step plan: 2.5 mg for 4 weeks, then 5 mg, and so on. From then on, reminders carry the correct amount for the current step, the upcoming step change is visible on the titration timeline, and your dose history shows exactly when each change happened, ready for your next review. The app never generates or suggests steps; it reminds you of the plan you were given, which is exactly the job.
The right amount on the right week
Enter your prescriber's plan once; reminders carry the correct dose for the current step. Coming soon to the App Store.
