How to track a peptide cycle: days on, days off and several compounds at once
Short answer: A cycle has two clocks: the daily or weekly dose pattern, and the longer on and off periods around it, such as 5 days on and 2 off, or 8 weeks on and 4 off. Tracking it well means recording the start date, letting reminders go quiet on off days, logging each dose as you take it and watching what is left in the vial. When you run several compounds, each needs its own cycle, because they rarely line up.
Why cycles are easy to lose track of
A weekly GLP-1 is one clock. A peptide cycle is at least two. There is the dose pattern (daily, twice daily, every other day) and there is the cycle around it (5 on, 2 off, or a block of weeks followed by a break). Add a second or third compound on its own pattern, and a notes app or a calendar alarm stops being enough. Reviews of peptide apps are full of people asking for exactly this: 5-on-2-off schedules, rest weeks shown on the calendar, and every-3-days patterns.
The details to write down at the start
- Start date. Everything else counts from this. Change it and the whole cycle shifts.
- Dose pattern. Every day, twice a day, every other day, set weekdays or every N days.
- Cycle shape. Days on and days off, for example 5 and 2, or 56 and 28 for 8 weeks on and 4 off.
- Amount per dose and route. Exactly as your protocol states.
- The vial. How much is in it, how much water you added, and when you mixed it.
Common patterns, and how they count
| Pattern | How it counts | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| 5 on, 2 off | Five dose days, then two rest days, repeating from the start date | If you start on a Wednesday, your rest days are Monday and Tuesday, not the weekend |
| Every other day | A dose every 48 hours | It drifts through the week, so "Monday, Wednesday, Friday" is not the same thing |
| Weeks on, weeks off | A block of dosing, then a break, then repeat | Knowing which week of the block you are in, and when the break starts |
| Set weekdays | Fixed days, such as Monday and Thursday | Uneven gaps between doses (3 days, then 4) |
Running several compounds at once
Each compound needs its own start date, pattern and cycle. Trying to force them into one shared routine usually means one of them gets dosed on a rest day or skipped on a dose day. The useful view is a simple grid: compounds down the side, days across the top, with what is due, taken or resting in each cell.
Keeping the record honest
Log the dose when you take it, including the site for injections, and log skipped doses as skipped rather than leaving gaps. If you pause a cycle for illness or travel, record it. A month later, a truthful record is the only way to know where you are in the cycle.
Many peptides are not licensed medicines in the UK, and their quality and safety have not been assessed the way prescription drugs are. Talk to a doctor before starting anything, and tell them about everything you take.
How PepLevel handles it
In PepLevel each compound gets its own schedule: every day, every N days, every N hours, a repeating pattern, weekly, set weekdays or as needed. Turn on Runs in cycles and enter the days on and days off from your protocol, from 1 to 90 days each, counted from your start date. Reminders fire on dose days and stay silent on rest days. The app only follows the cycle you enter. It never suggests one.
Today's This week grid shows every compound as its own row, from yesterday through the next five days, with taken, scheduled, skipped and unlogged doses each marked differently. If you pause for a few days or lose your place, you can correct today's position in the cycle without rewriting your history.
Save each vial with its amount and the water you added, and the app shows the volume for each planned dose, tracks what is left and reminds you before you run out. The free version tracks one compound. Pro removes the limit for stacks.
Common questions
How do I track 5 days on 2 days off?
Record your start date and set the cycle as 5 days on and 2 off, counted from that date. In PepLevel, turn on Runs in cycles for that compound and reminders will skip the rest days automatically.
Can I track different peptides on different schedules?
Yes. Give each compound its own start date, dose pattern and cycle rather than one shared routine. PepLevel shows them as separate rows in the week view so nothing lands on the wrong day.
What does 8 weeks on 4 weeks off mean in days?
It is 56 days of dosing followed by 28 days off, then the pattern repeats. Counting it in days from a fixed start date avoids confusion around months of different lengths.
